[Fangirling] Himitsu 14 + writer's block

Oooh goodie, new Himitsu opening! Much more Maki oriented, I must say. Actually...it's just that the shots of Aoki standing there with Maki have increased. Hmmm. *mind wanders*

Aoki, why are you holding a gun in the intro? I have never seen you hold one, much less fire it. Go back to piloting your helicopter, you oaf. x3 Unless of course, the gun is somehow related to Maki...again.

I like Amachi. I'm glad she hasn't been killed off (at least, not yet) like in the manga. Actually, I like most of the cast. They're awesome. :D

So this episode had a lot to do with...well, same-sex love and red high-heeled shoes. I shouldn't give it away, since it's sort of like a mystery anime. It was pretty funny though when they were spying on the lady at the love hotel. Okabe wanted Aoki to sort of "play the part" and Aoki freaks out. xD

I'm enjoying this series quite a bit. It's different from the manga in many ways, but that doesn't really bother me.

I've spent the last 3 or 4 days mulling over a fanfic. Usually I write late at night (don't ask me why, I have no idea) and then read it over when I wake up. Unfortunately, this fanfic has spun into a monster, and I don't know how to end it. I'll need to sleep on it more.

[Review] Himitsu (Top Secret)

So I happened upon a new anime last night. It's Himitsu (Top Secret) ~ The Revelation. I then proceeded to get obsessed and watch it till four in the morning haha.

The gist is that years in the future, MRI is used to examine brains of the recently deceased of violent crimes. Government Section 9 is given the duty of looking into the memories of the dead and uncovering their secrets, hence the title of the show. The show starts with Aoki Ikkou, the newly appointed member to the group.

So after getting properly obsessed, I tracked down the first few chapters of the original manga by Shimizu Reiko. Wow...they made quite a few changes. The tone of the anime seems to be somewhat darker (mostly because of characterization), although the manga seems to have a bit more gore so far.

I guess I'd classify it as psychological anime; my type of thing. I like the music too. There's this one song with drums when they're examining brains...very catchy haha.

The manga makes my shameless slash radar go off lol. Lots of hand-grabbing and whatnot. Anyway, enjoy!

[Review] No Regret + Lain

Recently, my friend dragged me into a movie shop and we browsed through the gay film section. Needless to say, it was...interesting. xD We didn't rent any, but I got bored and Youtubed some stuff.

I eventually got to the movie No Regret, a Korean film. It was nice, although the ending was bit strange. I don't want to go into detail since it would give spoilers, but the movie was quite sad at times, but sweet in a lot of others. I would recommend it. :)

My exploration of crunchyroll led me to Serial Experiments Lain. I watched through the first two episodes. Very....trippy, as I expected. I actually want to watch Texhnolyze too, which I think is by the same person.

Finished watching the first arc of Renai Shindan. I just sort of...stumbled onto it. It had Chinese subs, so I couldn't comprehend much from there besides the characters for "what" and "good." xD The dialogue was okay, and I was able to get most of it, but I kind of zoned out whenever he started talking about Ikarus and Daedalus.

Ah, how sad! I thought to myself at the end, "I wonder which one dies," but as it turns out, one doesn't die; he's just beat into a vegetative state. T_T Poor boy. I liked him best because he was so soft-spoken. That last scene was quite heart-wrenching to see him like that.

Sometimes I wonder if my roommate wonders what the heck I'm doing watching Power Rangers haha.

A Gunpei-centered episode. No complaints from me; he's my favorite. xD But man, they really beat him up in this one. They even had a trickle of blood going down his mouth! And they ripped up his uniform jacket! Poor guy. ;_;

I liked how everyone tried to baby him at the end to make up for it, and he got mad at them haha.

He always seems to have that brown book in his hands. Wonder what he's reading?

Preview for next episode: Shirtless Gunpei. That's all I have to say lol.

Something to do

So, I've suddenly found myself as part of a manga scanlations group. o_o I guess it just seems surreal that I'd be part of such a project since I don't have a lot of confidence in my Japanese abilities. -_-; I guess if they were too unbearable and/or inaccurate though, someone would've spoken up about them by now.

I'm making a rather large table of the all the manga I've read and anime I've seen for no apparent reason. It's under private lock for now, but I'll probably make it public later.

Fandom journal

Well, I've got some RL friends on my regular journal, [info]pikazoom, and I think they probably don't want to hear my rabid fangirlling all the time, so I decided to make a journal dedicated to fandom. Probably any future fics, graphics, or episode squeals will go here. See you around! As for where I got the name Isoya, it's from here. Apparently that's what comes out when I put my name in.
